Arriving in Abu Dhabi // Saapuminen Abu Dhabiin

28.11. was a travelling day. First I flew from Oulu to Helsinki and then from Helsinki to Dubai.

Here I´m at Oulu airport.

When I left Finland it was snowing quite much. It took longer than usual to get to the airport because of worse weather condition. Eventually I arrived in Oulu airport just in time. When I was completed the security check I found out that the flight was little bit late. I think it might have been because of heavy snowing. A flight from Helsinki to Dubai went well. 

In Dubai airport I felt astonished. There were a special train that took me to baggage claim. Never seen that before. From airport we took a taxi that was a Tesla and travelled to Abu Dhabi. On the way I admired the beautiful city of Dubai and even saw the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa.

Arriving to our home was also a bit shock(a good one) for me. The building was nice looking and inside of it it looked like a hotel. It was also a pleasant surprise when we entered in our home. The views were amazing and I could even hear the sound of  Formula 1-race(it was Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at that time)

During my first days there were also big celebrations due to the National day and Martyrs' day. We saw some air shows and fireworks and many celebrating people in the city. 

Overall the first week here was full of events and things to wonder. I have to admit that sometimes it felt unimaginable to be here and realize that this is really happening to me. Feeling very lucky to be here.

Torstaina 28.11. matkustin tänne. Ensin oli vuorossa lento Oulusta Helsinkiin ja sitten Helsingistä Dubaihin. Lennot menivät hyvin. Oulun lento oli hieman myöhässä, luultavasti lumisateen vuoksi, mutta saavuin silti Helsinkiin hyvissä ajoin ennen seuraavaa lentoa.

Dubain lentokentällä ihmetystä aiheutti se, että lentokoneesta nousun jälkeen kyltit ohjasivat junaan, joka lopulta vei passintarkastukseen ja laukkujen noutopaikalle. Lentokentältä taksiksi valikoitui Tesla, jonka kyydissä menimme Abu Dhabiin. Matkalla onnistuin näkemään maailman korkeimman rakennuksen, Burj Khalifan. Matkan varrelle sattui myös paljon muita hienoja ja todella korkeita rakennuksia.

Saapuminen asunnolle oli myös hieman shokki(hyvä sellainen). Talo näytti ihan hotellilta, aulassa oli vastaanottovirkailija ja asuntoihin kuljetaan kulkukortilla. Itse asunto oli myös todella positiivinen yllätys. Samaan aikaan kun saavuin tänne, täällä oli myös Formula 1- osakilpailu. Siinä sitten ihmettelin tätä kaikkea Formuloiden päristessä taustalla.

Ensimmäisen viikon aikana täällä oli myös maan 48. kansallispäivä ja sitä juhlistettiin näyttävästi. Oli monta erilaista lentonäytöstä, ilotulituksia ja paljon ihmisiä ulkona juhlistamassa kansallispäivää.

Kaiken kaikkiaan ensimmäinen viikko oli täynnä kaikenlaisia tapahtumia ja ihmeteltävää. Vieläkin tuntuu hieman epätodelliselta, että olen oikeasti muuttanut tänne asumaan. Tästä on hyvä jatkaa kohti tulevia viikkoja.
