On Friday 20.12 we visited Yas Marina Circuit that is located here in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. It's also a place for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for Formula One racing.
At the venue you can find all kinds of things to do. For example you can drive karts, drive Ferrari or Formula or other cool cars or jump in a Drift Taxi.
Originally our main goal was just to see the place where Grand Prix is actually arranged but at some point my husband had an idea that he wants to experience the Drift Taxi so he booked a one. All I can say it was nice to watch the car drifting in a track. According to my husband it was also a great experience to be in that car and let the driver do its job.

20.12 päätimme lähteä käymään Yas Marina Circuit-nimisellä radalla, joka sijaitsee täällä Abu Dhabissa Ysa Island-nimisellä saarella. Kyseessä on rata, jossa järjestetään Abu Dhabin F1- osakilpailu marraskuisin.
Itse paikanpäältä löytyy monenlaista tekemistä. Siellä voi muun muassa ajaa kartingia, hypätä esimerkiksi Ferrarin tai Formulan rattiin tai istua driftausauton kyytiin. Alkuperäinen idea oli vain käydä katsomassa, millainen itse rata ja tapahtumapaikka on, mutta mieheni sai idean kokeilla driftausauton kyydissäoloa. Siitä sitten vain kypärää päähän ja apukuskin paikalle ihmettelemään, että millaisia G-voimia driftatessa on mahdollisuus kokea. Kaikenkaikkiaan mukava kokemus sekä itse kyydissä olleelle että radanvarrelta seuranneille.
Pääsin myös Formulan rattiin, tosin kyseisessä mallissa ei ollut moottoria...
